Charles J George

  • Biostatistician
Charlei divides time with SHRS Data Center as a statistician and with the UPMC Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC) Childhood Depression Research project as a senior statistical coordinator. He holds a BS in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh, and MS in Biostatistics from Pitt’s Graduate School of Public Health (GSPH). Previously he worked at WPIC’s Maintenance Therapy in Late-Life Depression study, then GSPH’s Epidemiology Data Center, New Advances in Coronary Intervention study. Through these venues as well as private consulting and volunteering as a journal reviewer, he has supported projects in psychology and psychiatry, cardiology, family medicine, genetics, and nursing research.

When not walking grandchildren to the nearest coffee shop or teaching Sunday School at church, Charlei volunteers with the Scouts BSA as an assistant scoutmaster for both a locally-based troop and intertravelling-contingents of youth. To stay sharp, you may find him rushing through the woods with the Western Pennsylvania Orienteering Club.
